About Me
Hello Everyone!!
I am Shanita, the owner of S.D. Bailey Photography LLC and soon-to-be retired Army Officer and Combat Veteran with 22 years of service to this great Nation (Enlisted & Officer)! I am a graduate of Virginia State University (Hail State!) with a love for Chemistry (calling all S.T.E.Mers!).

I am also the mother of a teenage daughter and a small-town "country girl" from the Coastal area of Northeastern N.C. (shown). As you can guess, I grew up around lots of water and love to feel the hot N.C. sun in the summer.
I am a God-fearing Christian who loves life, family, friends, the Army and I am grateful for the many blessings bestowed upon my life. I believe in positive energy and I am a self-driven optimist (the glass is half full!)!

Hobbies (a lot!)
running, gardening, sewing, drawing, painting, crochet, embroidery, DIY projects (home improvement and crafting), and reading to name a few
Hidden Talents:
roller skating, double dutch, singing (when no one is around), trumpet, dancing, and on occasion I get into costume as Princess Tiana for the children

About S.D. Bailey Photography LLC.
I started my business in April 2019 after much deliberation about turning my beloved hobby into a business. One of the deciding factors was the request for portrait sessions with an increased demand for my services. People wanted to pay and I wanted to do things the right way (record of wages, taxes, etc.), so I went for it!
I know it’s a bit cliché to say, but I’ve loved photography since the day I received my first old-school instant Polaroid© camera back in umm….was I the late 80’s?...maybe early 90’s. Since that day, I’ve ALWAYS owned and collected a series of cameras and took pictures everywhere I went.
I currently operate part-time, by appointment only. Why you ask? Well, I absolutely enjoy the interaction I have with my clients and want to ensure I can provide a one-on-one personalized experience to meet each client’s individual needs. I believe each client has a story and I take special care and time to ensure I am able to personalize each session to bring their visions to life. I use my creativity and DIY skills to provide personalized presentations tailored to each client; no two sessions are the exact same!
I strive to provide a memorable experience and inviting, relaxed atmosphere for clients. I love my adults, but children always have a way of stealing the show and keeping me on my toes, whether it’s playing football catch with a toddler mid-session, coloring, or blowing up balloons and volleying to get the perfect shot.
I am patient, caring, understanding, and have a great deal of experience working with children and adults with special needs. I have a niece with autism and several other friends who also have special needs children and I completely understand the patience and delicacy required when working with them. I proudly support Autism Awareness!!
